Landywood Railway Station

The small village of Landywood is located approximately 3 miles south of Cannock and forms part of the parish of Great Wyrley.

 

Landywood railway station serves the village as well as the neighbouring villages of Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley. Opened in 1908 as Landywood Halt by the London & North Western Railway on the line from Walsall to Rugeley, this short-lived station closed in 1916. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1989 by British Rail.

 

There are several walking, running and cycling routes which are easily accessible from Landywood railway station.

Attractions:

Wyrley & Essington Branch LNR Nature Reserve, Walk Mill Clay Pit, The Malt at Landywood and many local amenities. Chasewater Country Park and Moseley Old Hall National Trust.
